    The Services and Reconstruction Committee in the House of Representatives revealed, on Sunday, a plan to invest in the main roads in the country, to rebuild the destroyed streets and bridges for a small fee.
    A member of the committee, MP Jasim Al-Bakhati, said in a statement on May 2, that "most of the roads linking the capital Baghdad with the governorates, as well as the roads between the governorates, have become unusable," explaining that "the committee has gone towards constructing roads and bridges alternative to the old roads."
    Al-Bakhati added, "Municipal departments in Baghdad and the governorates, as well as the Department of Roads and Public Bridges, will undertake the maintenance and maintenance of old roads, while new roads are being constructed in Samaya at a rate of 20 km, and Yusufiya road by 14 km."
    A member of the committee indicated, "A chairperson's proposal for investment, including; Baghdad - Karbala, Baghdad - Najaf, Baghdad - Wasit, as well as Diyala and Kirkuk - Baghdad road," stressing that "all these projects are still under discussion in the Investment Authority for the purpose of referring them to investment in coordination with the Ministry of Housing."
