    {Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Planning announced, on Monday, the approval of about 70 projects in a number of sectors in Dhi Qar Governorate.
    The ministry stated in a statement that {Euphrates News} received a copy of it, that it "completed the requirements of most of the special projects in Dhi Qar Governorate in record time, despite the presence of some deficiencies related to those projects."
     The official spokesman for the ministry, Abdul-Zahra Al-Hindawi, said, "The Minister of Planning, Dr. Khaled Battal Al-Najm, has delegated his powers to prepare files to increase project costs to the technical agent of the ministry, director general of the Sectors Planning Department, in order to speed up the completion of projects in Dhi Qar Governorate, and to give the governorate exceptional attention, in appreciation of due to its special circumstances, and in implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister, in this regard.”
     He added, "The ministry is often forced to receive project priorities via e-mail, in order to speed up the completion of requirements, and among those projects is the Al-Dawaya water project." He added that the governorate, through its official correspondence with the ministry, during the month of February, requested re-certification. On the projects of the 2019 plan again, and the Sectors Planning Department has studied the increase in the costs of a large number of projects, with many errors in the required statements, and thus sometimes it becomes not possible to approve the project before correcting those errors.
     And Al-Hindawi, "Requests to increase the costs of projects submitted by Dhi Qar Governorate, were received within one month, which led to their accumulation, and each of those requests included an increase in the cost of dozens of projects, not for one project, in the education sector there are 45 projects, and in the sector There are 10 projects, and 6 projects in the youth and sports sector, and so on, stressing that the instructions for implementing government contracts No. 2 of 2014 require the completion of all requirements and amended statements in order to be studied and ensure that the correct legal context is adopted, before approving the project.
     A spokesman for the Ministry of Planning revealed, "The cost increase or adjustment for projects in the education, water, youth and sports sectors, for Dhi Qar Governorate, has been fully completed," adding that "the requests for a number of other projects in the province have not been completed yet due to deficiencies in them, including the project of health clinics." In Dawaya, the Suq Al-Shuyoukh water project, the asphalt plant project, the project to establish 4 police stations, and the monitoring system project, the governorate was approached to complete these deficiencies, while the special deficiencies were completed for a number of other projects, including the project of submersibles and generators for the Shatrah sewage center, and the project to establish the College of Education The Nasiriyah-Suq Al-Shuyoukh road project, and a project to dismantle, transfer and install an asphalt production plant.
     Al-Hindawi reiterated, "The Ministry of Planning deals with all ministries and agencies not associated with the Ministry and the governorates, with high professionalism, and exerts its maximum capabilities in order to facilitate procedures and assist those parties in completing project requirements, without violating legal standards or instructions for implementing government contracts." And the ministry does not allow its staff to be unjustly abused by any party.
