Long-Presse / Baghdad:   Announced the Iraqi Ministry of Planning, on Friday, that the poverty rate in Iraq nearing the 19%, and confirmed that part of the population live in extreme poverty, and as pointed out that Iraq has improved a lot in recent times in terms of availability of food security, as much as an economist loss of Iraq of gross domestic product to “10%” due to military operations in the northern and western regions, warning of the risk of terrorism to control dams.

Keywords added, that “ration card played a major role in this aspect, and contributed to the reduction of poverty rates to 19%,” stressing that “part of them live in a state of extreme poverty.”

He continued, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning, that “the proportion of extreme poverty reached in 2007 to 1.5%,” pointing to that “these vulnerable groups in need of care and the search for pockets of extreme poverty to be addressed.”
