    {Economic: Al-Furat News} The Ministry of Transport / the General Company for Ports of Iraq discussed with the Korean company Daewoo the company's plans for the drilling method as part of its contract in the implementation of the Al-Faw port project.

    The company's general manager, Farhan Al-Fartousi, said in a statement that the agency {Euphrates News} received a copy of today that "Daewoo company made a presentation regarding the offshore drilling contract within the infrastructure contracts of the Great Port of Faw, reviewing its capabilities, equipment and plans that it will follow in the implementation, indicating that it also reviewed its work."     The general manager added that the Korean company Daewoo announced its readiness to start offshore drilling as soon as possible, stressing that the company indicated the method of drilling used for the project, the type of rigs that it will use and the method of throwing drilling products.
    The meeting was attended by the Korean company Daewoo, in addition to the Director General of the General Company for Ports of Iraq, the staff of the Grand Faw Port Authority.
    And he added, "The General Company for Ports of Iraq discussed today, July 5, with the Consul General of the Turkish Republic in Basra, the stages that the construction of the Great Port of Faw has reached, as well as the Iraqi Dry Canal, and how to link it to Turkish ports through a road and railroad."
    The Director General indicated, "After linking the two ports to the dry canal, the benefit will prevail on both sides and they will be the link between the East and the West, stressing that the Ministry has a desire for Turkish companies to participate in the construction of the investment road."
    For his part, the Turkish Consul extended his thanks and gratitude to the management of the supreme company for the hospitality and reception, promising high coordination that will take place in this regard between the ports of Iraq and the Turkish ports. The Director General presented the shield of the Faw Grand Port project to the guest consul.”
