Wasit Governor Muhammad Jamil Al-Mayahi announced, on Tuesday, the law to distribute 20 billion dinars to its beneficiaries in the province, stressing that it is debts, trusts and dues to companies and contractors, while noting that it has been postponed since 2014 and must be paid by the state to companies carrying out various works in the past years.
Al-Mayahi said in a statement received by Mawazine News, a copy of it, that the governorate began paying the dues of the companies that were affected by the financial crisis in 2014, and settling the financial, administrative and legal problems between the governorate and a number of companies, stressing, “We are keen to do justice to the companies that have performed their obligations in accordance with The contracts concluded with it", in order to complete its obligations towards the governorate and complete the tasks assigned to it, in order to obtain all its rights.
He added, "We know that there are a number of companies that have been affected and lost due to the financial crisis and the suspension of projects referred to them."
And he continued, we provided them with money in accordance with the law and the administrative contexts followed, without any blackmail, delay or preference for some over others, noting that their duty now is to work hard for the reconstruction of the province and to accomplish the work and obligations they entrusted in accordance with the specific specifications and timings.
