Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Transport revealed the percentage of completion of the Grand Faw Port in Basra.
The flags of the Ministry of Transport stated, “The dry canal project is the international land line that connects southern and northern Iraq, as the Iraqi ports represented by the Ministry of Transport wish to link Faw port to this canal.”
He explained, "The reason behind this project comes to transport goods coming from India, East Asia and the Arabian Gulf, which put their goods inside the great port of Faw to transport them to northern Iraq and then to Turkey and then to the European warehouse in Germany."
He added, "The responsible company seeks not to complete the internal roads, as the achievement now in the Makhmour Tunnel or the Silk Tunnel has reached more than 75%, i.e. to the casting stage."
He pointed out that "this tunnel is considered the first of its kind in the Middle East, which connects Al-Faw Al-Kabeer to Umm Qasr, and from there to the international line or the highway to northern Iraq."
He continued, "The large Al-Faw project is one of the projects that signed contracts with the Ministry of Transport, the General Company for Ports of Iraq, and started implementation, and now it has reached advanced stages of completion."
