{Local: Al Furat News} The Minister of Agriculture, Muhammad Al-Khafaji, confirmed, on Tuesday, that Iraq for the first time will host an international conference in the capital, Baghdad, at the beginning of next February.
And his media office said in a statement that {Euphrates News} received a copy of it, that "Al-Khafaji discussed the preparations for the (36) regional conference for the Near East and North Africa region of the FAO, which is scheduled to be held in the capital, Baghdad, at the beginning of next February."
Al-Khafaji stressed, "For the first time, Iraq hosts such international conferences with the wide participation of more than 30 countries," noting that "the conference will be an opportunity to clarify the location of the agricultural sector and the problem of the water crisis with the riparian countries with Iraq."
The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Al-Ghazi, and the advanced cadre of the Ministries of Agriculture and Foreign Affairs, as well as a representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
