The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan revealed, on Sunday, that the nomination to head the next government was limited to four personalities, noting that the head of the victory coalition Haider al-Abadi is the most likely to win the position.
The leader of the Union, Mahmoud Khoshnaw, said in an interview seen by / the information /, that "the political movement between the Sadrist movement and the coordination framework is still in the process of continuous dialogues, and the movement believes that part of the coordination can participate with it in its project by the majority, while the coordination insists on remaining coherent." As one unit without fragmentation.
Khoshnaw suggested that “the two parties agree on the personality of the candidate for the position of prime minister, and the Kurds will have their opinion on it,” explaining that “the coordinating framework will not go to the opposition, but will be a supportive part of the government and will not participate in it.”
He pointed out that "the personality of the next prime minister is limited to four personalities, and fortunes may point towards Haider al-Abadi in addition to the fortunes of Al-Kazemi," adding that "we are not certain now to resolve positions for political figures, and the dialogues are still continuing."
Khoshnaw explained that "the Kurdish component and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in particular, rely on bilateral Sunni-Shiite agreements, and the candidate for the position of prime minister must be agreed upon by all components, in addition to resolving the position of the Speaker of Parliament through the Federal Court," expecting that "it will be resolved."
