    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Sunday (May 19, 2024), Representative Basem Khashan called on the Presidency of Parliament to terminate Haibat Al-Halbousi’s membership after he disrupted the president’s election session and broke his oath.
Khashan said in his tweet on Twitter, followed by “Baghdad Today,” “After the session president read out the voting rules, and before the representatives started voting, Representative Haibat Al-Halbousi threatened to prevent the vote by force.”
He added, "In doing so, he has prevented the Council from exercising its constitutional duty. This is a breach of the constitutional oath, which ends his membership in the House of Representatives, and the Council must take what is necessary to regain its prestige!"
