The representative of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Muhammad Al-Baldawi, confirmed that the Federal Court will say its final word regarding reopening the door for candidacy again for the position of President of the Republic, pointing out that Parliament has not previously witnessed such a scenario as it is going through now with regard to the constitutional timings to run for the presidency.
Al-Baldawi told Al-Maalouma, "The Presidency of the Republic has opened the Federal Court for opening the door for candidacy for the presidential position after Parliament announced it yesterday, where the Court will say its word on the constitutionality of opening the door for candidacy or not."
He added, "Parliament has not previously witnessed such a scenario as is happening today, especially with regard to the end of the term of candidacy for the presidency, which coincided with the failure to hold a parliament session."
And he indicated that “Parliament did not hold its session to conduct the process of electing the President of the Republic, to go after that to open the door for candidacy again,” noting that “the Presidency of the Parliament is supposed to call for holding the session and motivate the political blocs in order to attend and elect the President of the Republic and proceed with the constitutional timings, and therefore the word The decision will be up to the Federal Court regarding the constitutionality of opening the door for candidacy or not. finished 25
