    Information/ Diyala…
The Human Rights Commission in Diyala issued a shocking report on drinking water on Thursday.
Commission Director Salah Mahdi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma that "20% of Diyala areas do not have access to drinking water, and the people depend on tanks, rivers and wells to obtain water."
Mahdi added, “The people’s lack of access to healthy drinking water leads to the emergence of diseases and epidemics,” stressing “the need to reconsider the financing of projects in Diyala in general in terms of determining the highest percentage of projects providing drinking water, especially in villages and remote rural areas that are not served by networks and seeking to end The suspended projects, especially the Bani Saad project, which provides drinking water to more than 150,000 people.
He pointed out that "the water file should take priority in future reconstruction plans, whether in cities or rural areas, and seek to formulate a plan for desalination plants to confront the danger of drought, especially since a large percentage of wells produce water with a high percentage of salt, whether in Baquba or the rest of Diyala's other cities."
