The General Company for Railways said that it was experiencing "significant losses" as a result of the lack of cooperation from the Ministry of Oil, pointing out that the ministry's companies refer tenders for the transfer of derivatives to the private sector.
General Director of the General Company for Railways, Talib Jawad Al-Husseini, said to the official newspaper, and "Ultra Iraq" followed him, that "the reluctance of the Ministry of Oil and the lack of cooperation with the railways caused great losses for the company."

He pointed out that "the company imported more than 400 tankers to transport oil derivatives, but since the beginning of this year, not a single liter of crude or black oil has been transported from refineries after the expiry of previous contracts, which he described as "shy."
Al-Hussaini was surprised that "some companies from the Ministry of Oil have transferred tenders for the transfer of derivatives to the private sector, which in turn, in agreement with the railways, later transfers the quantities that were contracted with the Ministry of Oil."
He pointed out, "The company's ability to transport petroleum products from the Qayyarah refinery in Mosul to the northern and southern Umm Qasr ports in Basra, and there are berths ready for unloading in the ports, but coordination did not take place with the concerned authorities in the Ministry of Oil in this direction."
Last year, the Ministry of Transport announced the resumption of railways transferring oil derivatives from the Baiji refinery after a 10-year hiatus at a rate of 1,000 cubic meters per day, while the Ministry of Oil announced during the year 2018 the resumption of transportation of products by rail from the Dora refinery in Baghdad to Basra after a 15-day hiatus. general.
