    The ambassador stated, "The United Kingdom has been one of the main donor countries in Iraq for several years, having provided, since 2014, more than 278 million pounds in humanitarian aid to support Iraqis and those affected by the conflict with ISIS," noting that "this helped provide food aid to more More than 500,000 people and life-saving healthcare services, including support for the response to the coronavirus in Iraq, and safe drinking water and shower facilities for millions more.”
    And he indicated that his country "also provided 56 million pounds sterling through the World Bank and United Nations programs to support the reconstruction of Iraq, including financing projects that support access to electricity, education, housing and health care for communities in areas affected by ISIS," explaining: "We have again launched a program The Demographic Transition, worth £14 million, is in partnership with the United Nations to support the Government of Iraq in strengthening the national family planning system.
