Deputy Speaker of Parliament promises to implement the law of "veterinary" medical gradation and increase cadres
Shafaq News/ The Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah, promised, on Wednesday, to address the concerned authorities in order to implement the Veterinary Medical Progression Law and to provide the necessary financial allocations to increase veterinary medical cadres throughout the country.
This came when he received a delegation of veterinarians in Iraq, according to a statement from his office received by Shafak News Agency.
During the meeting, they discussed topics related to the importance of caring for the holders of certificates and specializations and benefiting from their experiences, strengthening the role of the veterinarian and highlighting its importance in maintaining public health and developing livestock, as well as discussing the Veterinary Medical Progression Law No. 136 of 1980 and amended 2021.
The second vice-president of the council stressed, "attention to competencies and investing their scientific capabilities as quality human resources, and veterinarians have a major role in reviving livestock, protecting society and raising the economic level of breeders."

A few days ago, Director General of the Veterinary Department at the Ministry of Agriculture, Thamer Al-Khafaji, said that "no veterinarian has been appointed since 1989 until now."
