[size=45]The Iraqi Ministry of Environment has warned a number of foreign companies operating in the oil sector in Iraq in the southern fields for violating the provisions of Article (20) and not complying with environmental controls.[/size]
[size=45]The Director-General of the Department of Environmental Protection and Improvement in the Southern Region, Walid Al-Moussawi, said in a statement today, Sunday, that the oil companies operating in the oil fields are obligated to treat the pollutants resulting from extractive and exploratory operations by adopting modern techniques in treating the oil pollution resulting from these operations in order to reduce the level of pollution. .[/size]
[size=45]He added that the Basra Environment Directorate informed a number of foreign oil companies of the need to remove environmental violations because of their negative effects on the environment and public health. and the oil activities of these companies to see the environmental reality and field monitoring thereof.[/size]
