Today, Wednesday, Minister of Interior Othman Al-Ghanimi met with the US Ambassador to Iraq, Mrs. Alina Romanovsky. At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed his guest and discussed with her a number of issues of mutual interest.
They also discussed enhancing cooperation and coordination between the two countries, especially in the security field. The Minister emphasized the agreements to combat terrorism and organized crime, including the fight against narcotics and psychotropic substances.
In another context, Mr. Al-Ghanimi pointed to the need to work with international organizations working in Iraq in the field of migration, praising at the same time the support provided by these organizations, especially in the humanitarian aspect.
For her part, Mrs. Romanovsky praised the efforts of the Iraqi security forces and what they achieved in combating terrorism and crime and enhancing security and stability, stressing her country's keenness to develop relations between Iraq and America.
