The General Company for Grain Trade announced, on Thursday, the end of the marketing season for the wheat crop 2022, after the marketed quantities reached more than two million and one hundred thousand tons until today.
A statement by the company’s general manager, Muhammad Hanoun, which Mawazine News received a copy of, stated: The end of marketing operations in all marketing centers
. Hanoun clarified, the position of receiving wheat on 7/21 is as follows: Erbil, 2241 tons, Sulaymani, 1888 tons, Dohuk 240 tons, Kirkuk 773 Tons, Nineveh 408 tons, Salah al-Din 422 tons.
The statement added, that the total marketing today amounted to 5,938 tons, while the total marketing amounted to
2,108,494 tons.
He pointed out that the marketing operations have been completed in all governorates and that the General Company for Grain Trade decided to receive the remaining quantities by keeping the marketing centers open to receive the marketed quantities from farmers and farmers in the governorates of Kurdistan to make way for receiving new quantities.
Hanoun added that the 2022 marketing season was successful, especially as it attracted all the marketed quantities of farmers and farmers in light of many problems and challenges related to the lack of water and the reduction of the farming plan to more than half due to the directives issued by the Ministry of Water Resources.
The Director General of the Grain Company praised the efforts made by the government sectors in the ministries of commerce, the Ministry of Agriculture, the security services and all local governments in all governorates that made great and exceptional efforts for the success of the marketing season.
He added, that the 2022 season did not record any negative comments or irregularities, as there is joint cooperation from farmers, as well as the great measures taken by the Supreme Marketing Committee that supervises marketing in the General Company for Grain Trade and to work transparently by receiving all marketed quantities from farmers and farmers and reducing the conditions And the previous controls, including contributing to the support of farmers and bypassing the routine cycles.
The statement commended the efforts of the Minister of Commerce in supporting the activities of the company and its working staff, which continued to work continuously over the previous months despite the difficult weather conditions, as well as the continuous directives to make the marketing season a success in line with the urgent need in light of the difficult economic conditions the world is witnessing in the matter of grain shortages.
Hanoun pointed out that the current marketing season is one of the best seasons by paying farmers and farmers dues, as the percentage of payment of dues has reached 80 percent of all provinces, and that 5 of the provinces have completed the delivery of all dues, which is a positive indication of the government's support for the agricultural sector and support for farmers.
