Thousands follow him, including the Iranian ambassador.. a fake Twitter account impersonating the Iraqi president
Shafaq News/ The Digital Media Center (DMC) announced on Monday, the existence of a fake account on the Twitter platform that impersonates the President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdul Latif Rashid, noting that the account has been followed by a large number of political and media figures in Iraq.
The center said in a statement received by Shafak News Agency; The fake account, which used the identifier (MrPresi1dent) was created in 2019 and gained more than 22,000 followers on the Twitter platform, including the verified account of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs (which unfollowed today Monday) and the Iranian ambassador to Iraq Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq, and the account The notary of the former head of the Communications and Media Committee in the House of Representatives, Naim Al-Aboudi, and the authenticated account of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Muayyad Al-Lami, as well as a large number of Iraqi media professionals, activists, former ministers in the Iraqi government and a number of other politicians.
Center emphasized; The fake account is still garnering followers despite the issuance of an official statement from the Presidency of the Republic that there is a single account for President Rashid on the Twitter platform, bearing the identifier (@ljrashid), in addition to an account on the Facebook platform under the name (latifrashidofficial).
