The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers revealed, on Wednesday, new details regarding the new Sadr City project, while confirming that international companies have expressed their desire to invest in the housing sector in Iraq.
Amanat spokesman Haider Majeed told the official news agency, "Sadr City is now witnessing a campaign of reconstruction and rehabilitation of the main roads," noting that "the Prime Minister directed to refer the designs of the Sadr City project to a solid company to develop the final designs for all the details of the project for the purpose of approving them and proceeding with contracts." and referral.”
And he continued, "There are local, Arab and international companies that have a great desire to work and invest in Iraq, whether in the public sectors, especially in the housing sector," explaining that "the higher committee responsible for the new Sadr City project will take into account the referral of the project to a solid company."
He stressed that "the project plan includes the construction of 90,000 housing units, and the construction will be vertical," explaining that "the city will have an integrated infrastructure with its own service facilities, including water and sewage desalination plants, school buildings, health centers and other facilities, in addition to a network of roads linking it with the surrounding areas." .
And he stated, "The project aims to reduce population momentum," pointing out that "it will be built on a land of 4,000 acres," while stressing that "the General Secretariat has made advanced strides for the project's land file and settled all the space in favor of the Baghdad Municipality."
