The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced the issuance of a Diwani order to terminate the assignment of a number of general managers.
The order issued by the General Secretariat, which (Baghdad Today) obtained a copy of, pointed out that "with the approval of the Prime Minister, it was decided to end the assignment of 25 general managers in government ministries, institutions and companies."
These administrative orders come with the recent decision of the Council of Ministers, in its session held on May 2, a broad package of reform decisions that included the approval of the dismissal of about 60 officials with the rank of director general in various ministries, as part of what he considered the first batch of a comprehensive change process in the positions of general managers in the country.
But the announced number is much less than what was revealed by the government spokesman, Basem Al-Awadi, as he told (Baghdad Today) a day after the government’s decision, that: “The evaluation process for general directors affected 322 general directors out of 439 directors, which is the total number of general directors in all Iraqi ministries, which is 23 ministries.
