Declining the population growth rate to 2.5 percent

Baghdad: Rula Watheq,
advisor to the United Nations Population Fund, Mahdi Al-Allaq, said that the population growth rate in Iraq has decreased to 2.5%.
Al-Alaq stated, in an interview with "Al-Sabah", that "Iraq is not witnessing a population explosion," pointing to "the need to face matters objectively, as the population growth rate in Iraq decreased for the first time to about 2.5% after it was more than 3% before About five years."
He added, "The fertility rates of Iraqi women increased in the seventies of the last century, with a birth rate approaching about seven children, while the woman's birth rate at the present time is between 3-4 children."
