Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: The Ministry of Commerce revealed a proposal to add new items to the food basket during the next year, while indicating that the financing will be with the funds allocated to those from whom the items will be withheld, whether from the deceased or those who receive a salary of two million or more, according to the decision of the Council of Ministers in this regard.
The General Manager of the General Company for Foodstuff Trade, Lama Al-Moussawi, said that the current contracts regarding foodstuffs for the food basket continue until the end of this year and there is no change.
And she added: There will be a proposal that will be submitted at the beginning of next year that includes adding a new substance or quantities or types of materials to the food basket, warning that the proposal will be submitted among a number of proposals to the Council of Ministers to obtain a decision on it.
And she continued, that the financing of this proposal and others to increase the items of the food basket will be through investing the funds allocated to financing the items of the card for those who will be withheld from them, whether from the deceased or those who receive a salary of two million.
The Council of Ministers issued a decision to withhold the food basket from those who earn a salary of two million dinars or more.
