    At the 26 minute mark it is pointed out that the cbi governor is quoted at naming the rate at 1132. The report does record that. However, anyone in this investment for any length of times knows how numbers are transcribed and misaligned at times, that's what happened in this case. I have the report here:


    Examine all the numbers in the report and apply some critical thought, notice what the black-market rate is quoted at as well. When have you ever seen the parallel rate that low before and how do they have the ability to forecast that it would be such? I can tell if it were there, they'd invent a holiday to celebrate it. Not to say that it couldn't happen but the article from March didn't capture it either. In March the market rate is near the 1500 level. For some reason and in all instances the middle digits are reversed, when you understand that, the report then makes sense. 


    I am expecting a rate drop in the near term and in fact a conclusion, but I won't hoist a house on a sandy foundation.  It will come but this 1132 figure being batted about, the CBI gov never said that. A quick check at the cbi site proves the point and in the future any rate change will be certified there. Hang in there, it is coming.

    [ltr]Shafaq News / The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq Ali Al-Alaq expected, on Tuesday, a decline in the parallel dollar exchange rate (market rate and local exchanges) during the coming period.[/ltr]









    [ltr]Al-Alaq told Shafaq News Agency, "The Central Bank has launched multiple packages of measures, and the packages that have been launched are being dealt with seriously to control the parallel dollar exchange rate."[/ltr]











    [ltr]Al-Alaq pointed out that "the measures of the Central Bank are continuing to control the exchange rate, and we expect a decrease in the parallel exchange rate."[/ltr]










    [ltr]The parallel rate means the exchange rate of the dollar in the market and exchanges, not the official rate set at 1132 dinars per dollar, according to the decision of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Iraq, which was approved by the Council of Ministers.[/ltr]










    [ltr]Iraq's central bank has issued three reform packages it said were aimed at tackling the rise in dollar exchange rates.[/ltr]









    [ltr]Despite the Central Bank's actions and approval of the exchange rate of 1132 dinars to the dollar, the exchange rates of the dollar still range in the markets between 1155 and 1158 dinars to the dollar.[/ltr]

    I'm actually very surprised to see militia man still insisting the CBI actually said 1132. To say that is to pretend and ignore the rest of the report. I guess he is getting heat and deservingly so.

    Iraq revalued its currency just over two weeks after replacing the central bank governor as part of an effort to stabilize the foreign exchange market.
    The cabinet on Tuesday approved a decision to set the exchange rate at 1,300 dinars per US dollar, according to a tweet on Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani’s office account. No further details were provided.
