The Baghdad International Book Fair began on September 18, with the participation of more than (600) publishing and printing houses from Iraq, and 15 Arab and foreign countries. After the exhibition was scheduled to continue until September 27, it was extended until September 29, due to the wide public demand. The spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Culture, Ahmed Al-Olayawi, said in a press
statement: “The exhibition achieved a very great success in terms of the participation of publishing and printing houses and the distinguished presence of citizens, in addition to the influx of many foreigners to the exhibition from different Arab countries.” He stated, “The
exhibition It included holding many cultural dialogue sessions in which a number of Iraqi and Arab writers and artists participated, which added a new touch to the exhibition. “With local and international media interest in the exhibition’s various cultural activities.”
Al-Alaywi added, "The exhibition was a clear message to the world that Baghdad civilization has returned again to take its pioneering role in the field of culture, and to be a station for gathering all readers and intellectuals in the region," adding that "the Iraqi government pays great attention - at various levels - to show this exhibition in the best possible way." picture".
