    [size=45]Representatives of the Kuwaiti National Assembly (Parliament) called for international parliamentary solidarity to support Kuwait’s position regarding the agreement regulating maritime navigation in Khor Abdullah, the ratification of which was invalidated by the Iraqi Federal Court.[/size]
    [size=45]On September 4, the Iraqi Federal Supreme Court declared the ratification of the agreement regulating navigation in Khor Abdullah between Iraq and Kuwait unconstitutional.[/size]
    [size=45]The statement was signed by 30 representatives representing various political and social blocs and movements in Kuwait. Members of the Kuwaiti Parliament warned that with the Iraqi Federal Court’s veto of the agreement, “all agreements have become subject to veto and cancellation outside the framework of the terms of those agreements and in violation of international law, international conventions and organizations.”[/size]
    [size=45]The representatives said in their statement: “As members of the Kuwaiti National Assembly and representatives of its people... to the parliaments of all brotherly and friendly countries, we call on them to stand with the Kuwaiti right and support it in the agreement regulating maritime navigation in Khor Abdullah signed in 2012 between the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Iraq.”[/size]
    [size=45]He added: “Since the Kuwaiti right is based on the principle of strengthening bilateral relations, continuing ties based on the principle of good neighborliness, stabilizing regional security, and emphasizing respect for the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of states, and respect for international agreements, laws, and norms, then supporting this right is aimed at preserving international peace and security and achieving global stability, not Especially in the Gulf region.”[/size]
    [size=45]The representatives said in their statement: “In the face of this aggressive behavior that resulted in the Iraqi Federal Court’s veto of the Khor Abdullah Agreement, all agreements have become subject to veto and cancellation outside the framework of the terms of those agreements and in violation of international law, international conventions and organizations, which are the best means of resolving disputes.”[/size]
