On Tuesday evening (October 17, 2023), Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani issued a directive to employees and associates in all state departments, facilities and formations, and to university and school students throughout Iraq regarding the bloody massacre that took place in the Gaza Strip this evening in a new Israeli aggression.[/size]
[size=45]A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office stated that Al-Sudani directed “to perform a stand of solidarity and mourning tomorrow, Wednesday, at nine o’clock in the morning in the workplace, out of loyalty and respect to the innocent souls of our brotherly Palestinian people, who were killed by the brutal Zionist aggression against the Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip.”[/size]
[size=45]The Israeli occupation bombed Al-Ahly Baptist Hospital on Tuesday evening in the central Gaza Strip, killing 500 people, the majority of whom were children and women.[/size]
[size=45]The Israeli massacre sparked widespread anger among the Islamic and Arab peoples and sparked demonstrations and protests denouncing and denouncing the aggression.[/size]
[size=45]The Iraqi government decided to declare general mourning in the country for a period of 3 days for the martyrs of Gaza.[/size]
