2023-10-29 A security source reported, on Sunday evening, that the Iraqi-Syrian border was subjected to an unknown aerial bombardment, in an attack that was the second of its kind after an air strike directed by Washington during the past 72 hours.[/size]
[size=45]The source said, “An unknown source warplane bombed this evening the vicinity of the city of Albukamal in the Deir ez-Zor countryside, near the Iraqi-Syrian border,” without giving further details.[/size]
[size=45]The US Department of Defense (the Pentagon) announced at dawn on Friday that it had carried out strikes against two facilities in Albukamal that it said belonged to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and groups it supports, in response to a series of attacks against US forces in both Iraq and Syria.[/size]
[size=45]The strikes occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Friday in Syria (0130 GMT) near Albukamal, a Syrian town on the border with Iraq, and were carried out by two American F-16 fighter planes, using precision munitions, according to the Pentagon.[/size]
