The Ministry of Commerce revealed yesterday, Monday, that the rate of updating data for the electronic card in five governorates reached 98 percent, while indicating that more than one million and 250 thousand individuals were excluded from the food basket program.
The Ministry’s official spokesman, Muthanna Jabbar, told “INA”: The rate of updating data for the electronic card in the five governorates (Kirkuk, Muthanna, Holy Karbala, Najaf Al-Ashraf, and Dohuk) reached 98 percent, noting that the remaining percentages were considered unwilling to undergo the updating and obtaining process. On the basket or traveling outside Iraq. He pointed out that the Ministry recorded the highest data in the Al-Karkh side of Baghdad Governorate, at 864 thousand families, as the percentage of families who did not attend the update amounted to 64 thousand families, and they were considered unwilling to update or traveling outside Iraq, stressing that the update process continues for any Iraqi individual who does not have enough time. Jabbar pointed out that the update process showed that the number of deceased and travelers on the Karkh side was 80,000 individuals, while the number in the five governorates reached 101,000 individuals, adding that more than 1,250,000 individuals were excluded from the basket program, and this percentage pertains to the five governorates and the Karkh side of Baghdad.
