    The General Directorate of Water, one of the formations of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, counted, on Tuesday, its completed and in-progress projects for the current year, and while it indicated the imminent opening of 6 under-construction projects, it confirmed the implementation of the electronic collection system in 7 governorates .
    The Director General of the General Directorate of Water, Ammar Al-Maliki, said in a statement reported by the official news agency, and seen by Al-Iqtisad News, that “the projects completed in Salah al-Din Governorate for the current year included water in the Dujail District in Salah al-Din Governorate with a capacity of 4,000 cubic meters per hour, and the Kut Water Project in Wasit.” Capacity of 10,000 m3 per hour,” indicating, “There are projects that will enter the completion stage, as they have achieved high completion rates and have witnessed trial operation and are very close to opening: including the Al-Baghdadi Water Project, the Zubaidiyah Water Project, the Nahrawan Water Project, the Amara Water Project, and the Flower Water Project, in addition to the Automation Project. ” .
    Regarding electronic collection, Al-Maliki explained, “The electronic collection system aims to transform the collection system from paper to electronic and has been implemented in the governorates of (Nineveh, Najaf Al-Ashraf, Kirkuk, Diyala, Al-Muthanna, and Basra). ”
    He continued, "The number of meters installed reached (421,223) meters distributed over seven governorates," pointing out that "the completion rate of the automation and electronic collection project reached 40 percent ."
