    Former Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, said today, Saturday, that the results and repercussions of the American strike in Iraq completely contradict American goals, while he predicted 3 “catastrophic” results for what he described as American arrogance.

    Abdul Mahdi stated in a press statement that the brutal American aggression against Iraq and Syria finds its justifications in policies: reaction and arrogance, keeping the image of a strong president in front of his voters, conflicting goals and policies and their contradictions, ignorance of the conditions of the region, support for the policies of the Zionist entity and its war in Gaza and the region, etc.

    Its results and repercussions completely contradict the declared American goals. These are the three most important goals, along with the responses to them:
    1- Preventing escalation and calming down. The fall of martyrs will necessarily lead to a response, and thus the progression of mutual strikes, escalation, and expansion of the battle. While the calm and cessation of escalation can be achieved quickly and include the entire region by stopping the war on Gaza.
    2- Fighting ISIS, which is a cover for the presence of these forces. Strikes on the targeted forces and sites weaken the governments and the main forces fighting ISIS. Terrorism thrives through these operations and gets the green light to expand its activities.
    3- Dialogue to end the foreign presence and regulate bilateral relations. Despite the efforts of the Iraqi government and many forces to contain the escalation, such operations will reinforce the logic of confrontations over the logic of dialogue.
    Some agencies reported the participation of Jordanian aircraft in the raids. We hope that the news is false, which we believe is true, but if it is true, its effects will be completely negative, especially since Jordan announced that the attack in which three American soldiers were killed took place outside Jordan.
    May God have mercy on the martyrs and the wounded with a speedy recovery. And unto God and to Him we shall return. There's no strength except in Allah Almighty.
