    Today, Thursday (February 22, 2024), Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani congratulated the scientific and academic elites on the occasion of granting international accreditation to medical colleges in Iraq, while noting that this achievement is the result of the hard work of our institutions.
    Al-Sudani said in a blog post on the (X) website, followed by “Baghdad Today”: “We congratulate our scientific and academic elite on the important achievement achieved by the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq, after the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) granted it full international accreditation at the level of program evaluation and standards.” Accredited in the areas of ensuring the quality of medical education.
    He added: "This achievement is a summary of the hard work of our academic institutions, and evidence of the solidity of the medical colleges in our country. We confirm our support for all efforts that enhance the development of higher education in Iraq."

    Earlier, the World Federation for Medical Education granted the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq (NCAMC) full international accreditation at the level of program evaluation and approved standards in areas within the quality of medical education.
    The text of the letter sent by (WFME) - according to a statement issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education, received by “Baghdad Today” - stated that “the recognition committee in the World Federation concluded its vote and agreed to recognize the NCAMC for a period extending until 2034, and the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq, relying on its policies and procedures to ensure the quality of medical education.”
    For his part, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi, described the accreditation of medical colleges and university and health institutions as an “unprecedented historical achievement” and bears a conclusive indication that the achieved international accreditation represents the summary of the hard work of solid national educational institutions.
