    Today, Thursday (February 29, 2024), the Al-Azm coalition, headed by Muthanna Al-Samarrai, set three conditions to support the next governor of Diyala.
    Alliance member Muhammad Al-Hadloush said in an interview with “Baghdad Al-Youm” that “Al-Azm is part of the political process in Diyala and one of the three Sunni forces present in the province, but we do not care about the tribal or sectarian affiliation of any candidate for the position of governor. We only want him to be interactive with everyone.” He denied that the Sunni forces had presented a candidate for the position of governor.
    He added, "The recent consensuses pushed the position of Diyala governor into the coordination framework, and he is the one who must decide his options and put forward the candidate, but we have placed three conditions on any person who will be appointed, which are competence and experience, that he must have a road map to address the problems of the governorate, that he believes in national balance, and that he creates partnership in the decision and justice in the decision-making process."
