    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Friday (April 12, 2024), an informed political source revealed the content of 3 American messages via Iraqi channels within 4 days to Tehran after the bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
The source said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "America has come to believe that the Iraqi communication channels are the closest in conveying its messages to Tehran directly because of the mutual relations and Baghdad's playing of important roles in the file of calm in the Middle East and trying to persuade both Washington and Tehran to reduce tension after the events." Gaza and its harsh repercussions on the region.
He added, "Washington transmitted four messages through multiple Iraqi channels to Tehran in an attempt to avoid the outbreak of a bloody conflict in the Middle East after Israel bombed the Iranian consulate in Damascus and the killing of elite leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, which is the second biggest loss for Tehran after the loss of General Qassem Soleimani."
He pointed out that "America's messages centered on three main points, most notably its lack of knowledge of the bombing of the consulate and that it was not involved, the necessity of not responding to avoid the outbreak of a comprehensive war in the Middle East region, and the importance of calm and not provoking any tensions by the armed factions and attacking American targets in the region."
He continued, "America is actually concerned about any American response that would lead to deterioration and place dozens of military bases under direct fire if Tel Aviv retaliates, which means a comprehensive war that cannot be contained by Washington," pointing out that "the latter resorting to Baghdad and repeatedly... The communication channels reflect the American urgency to avoid collision with Tehran at times when it is suffering from an indirect war in the Bab al-Mandab Strait with the Houthis, challenges to its bases in Iraq and Syria, and the rising flames of the Lebanese front.
Tensions are escalating between Iran, on the one hand, and Israel and America, on the other hand, after the incident of targeting Revolutionary Guard leaders in Damascus, and the possibility of an Iranian response, the occurrence and size of which some doubt, while others believe that there is a strong response that will take the region to the final turn before the all-out war between the conflicting regional and international powers. In the Middle East, according to observers.
