Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar Al-Hakim, discussed, on Tuesday, with the new Australian ambassador in Baghdad, taking advantage of the promising opportunities offered by Iraq in several fields.
Al-Hakim said in a statement: This morning we met with the new Australian ambassador to Baghdad, Glenn Mills, and expressed our wishes for success in heading his country’s diplomatic mission in Iraq.
The statement added: We exchanged views on developing relations between Iraq and Australia, and we welcomed the desire of Australian companies to enter Iraq and benefit from the promising opportunities that Iraq offers in several fields.
He continued: We renewed our support for the Iraqi Prime Minister’s visit to Washington and expressed our hope that the visit would achieve the desired results, stressing the importance of Iraq’s stability for the security, stability and safety of the region.
While Al-Hakim renewed “the call for a ceasefire in Gaza, and the necessity of providing relief to the displaced, bringing in aid, and rebuilding the city,” calling on “the international community to end the state of double standards in dealing with the tragic and catastrophic reality in Gaza.”
