The Ministry of Planning developed a plan to establish a residential city in each governorate, while indicating that the plan is compatible with the increase in population numbers in each governorate.
The ministry’s spokesman, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, told “INA” yesterday, Tuesday: “The housing file represents a priority within the directives of the Ministry of Planning,” noting that “the file receives great attention from the Council.”

He explained, “Future policies, procedures and plans have been prepared to address the housing crisis in Iraq, including the establishment of integrated residential cities in all governorates of Iraq, which will contribute to addressing this crisis, as well as moving towards opening broad investment horizons, especially since local and foreign companies have expressed their desire to enter.” With extensive investments in the housing sector.
He pointed out that "facilities will be granted to citizens in this area to enable them to obtain housing units," indicating that "these policies will significantly address the housing crisis."
Al-Hindawi pointed out that "Iraq's need for housing units exceeded two million units," explaining that "the population policies in the field of the housing sector that have been developed are compatible with the population of each governorate."
