    Baghdad today - Diyala
Today, Monday (June 10, 2024), dozens of truck drivers organized a protest near the Al-Mundhiriya border crossing, east of Diyala Governorate, raising three main demands.
One of the participants in the protest, called Ahmed Hassan, said in an interview with “Baghdad Today,” that “dozens of truck drivers and representatives of some customs clearance companies organized a protest near the Al-Mundhiriya border crossing, raising three main demands, namely the recent targeting of some trucks by outlaw groups.” On the Baqubah-Khanaqin road, two companies took over the business inside the crossing, as well as forcing merchants to deal with them.”

He added, "The demonstration is a message of help from more than 1,000 families represented by truck drivers and representatives of clearing companies, and a call for help to Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani in order to form an investigation team to find out the secrets of what is happening at the Al-Mundhiriya crossing, protect companies and merchants, and prevent any attempts at monopoly."
In addition, a security source said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “a high-ranking security delegation held a meeting with representatives of the protest, and their demands were conveyed to the higher authorities in Baghdad, with an emphasis on addressing the Diyala Operations Command regarding securing the Baqubah-Khanaqin road and preventing any practices against drivers.” Trucks.
