Electricity: Adding 11 thousand megawatts in 3 years

The Ministry of Electricity reported that its strategic plan will add, within three years, 11,000 megawatts to the national system by adopting a package of clean energy projects.
The ministry's official spokesman, Ahmed Moussa, stressed to Al-Sabah that his ministry has prepared a strategic plan that will last for three years, starting now, aiming to add about 11,000 megawatts to the system, enabling it to increase the rate of supply to citizens, with the increase to be successive.
He added that the plan includes establishing clean energy projects that include solar and thermal energy stations, in addition to a third for combined cycle electricity generation, in addition to a waste recycling plant, in addition to exploiting wind energy and completing electrical energy projects that have been lagging for years, such as the molasses stations in Kirkuk, Anbar Complex, and Akkas in Anbar, stressing that the plan will provide new generating capacities for Baghdad and the governorates to advance the reality of the system.
The Ministry announced last month that the energy situation this summer would be better compared to previous seasons.
