    Baghdad Today - Special
The US presidential debate between President Joe Biden and Republican candidate Donald Trump showed the latter's superiority, according to all political analyses inside and outside the US.
Trump's ascension to the US presidency for the second time has a weight on Europe, China and Iran. During his first period from 2016 to  2020, he exhausted NATO with billions of dollars and subjected China to free trade conditions and taxes. He also worked to dry up the sources of all Iranian imports as sanctions on its nuclear program and destabilization in the East. The middle as he sees it.
As for Iraq, as part of his campaign against Iran and its proxies, Trump ordered a strike on January 3, 2020, on the late Iranian Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani at Baghdad International Airport, taking with him the deputy chief of staff of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
It was immediately followed by an outburst of Iranian-Iraqi anger over this behavior, which was considered a violation of sovereignty and international treaties, which necessitated a “formal” response to the raid by issuing a non-binding parliamentary decision to remove American forces from Iraq, and then the bombing of the Ain al-Asad base in western Iraq by Iran with 11 missiles. The “empty-loaded” ballistics did not cause any damage except “a headache for the American soldiers.”
However, the most dangerous and largest step was taken by the Iraqi judiciary, by issuing an arrest warrant and investigation against Donald Trump after he left office as President of the United States. The Chief of the Supreme Judiciary in Iraq, Faiq Zaidan, confirmed: “We have issued an arrest warrant against Trump and we will not hesitate to take legal measures.”
The danger of the arrest warrant lies in Trump's strong comeback, according to opinion polls and the last debate in which he won against his rival, Joe Biden, the current President of the United States. It is not clear how the government will deal with this matter, which it refused to comment on to Baghdad Today for the second time during Trump's candidacy.
It seems that things are heading for escalation between Iraq and the United States in the coming period, especially after the appearance of the new nominated American ambassador to Iraq with a sharp policy with the Iranians and their agents in Iraq, and after the sanctions that include from time to time parties belonging to the Popular Mobilization Forces, and the entry of the Iranian-backed Islamic Resistance in Iraq into the confrontation line with... The Zionist entity.
The most prominent question remains: How will the government deal with the next President of the United States, who is considered “wanted” by the Iraqi judiciary and has no political acceptance, especially with the current that holds power?
