    Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani directed the settlement of expropriations along the path of the (Development Road Project).
    The Prime Minister’s Media Office said in a statement received by Al-Masala, that Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani chaired, today, the regular meeting of the Supreme Committee for the Development Road Project, in the presence of the Minister of Transport, the Minister of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, the Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Head of the Authority. Investment, a number of officials in the ministries of planning, oil, electricity and communications, and advisors to the Prime Minister.
    He added that the meeting witnessed a review of the progress made in the Grand Al-Faw Port, and the Minister of Transport also reviewed the verification of executive procedures, in light of the decisions of previous meetings, and the follow-up of the expropriation file and the resolution of conflicts with the Ministries of Oil and Electricity, and with other ministries and governorates.
    He added that the meeting approved the formation of a joint committee that includes the Ministry of Transport/General Railways Company, the Ministry of Finance/State Real Estate Department, the Ministry of Water Resources/General Survey Authority, the Ministry of Agriculture/Agricultural Lands Department, the Ministry of Construction and Housing/General Municipalities Directorate and the Roads and Bridges Department, which is responsible for preparing cadastro maps for the lands through which the project paths pass, determining the ownership of those lands and their legal description, and working to expropriate them for the Ministry of Transport, in accordance with the laws and decisions in force, or those required to be created, to proceed with the expropriation required to complete the project.
    The office pointed out that the legal vision for managing the Development Road and Grand Faw Port project was reviewed through a special law, taking into consideration similar experiences in the region and the world, and the vision for transferring energy within the project, in addition to the diplomatic file that includes explaining the dimensions of the project to friendly countries, and countries wishing to join and participate in the implementation, or their companies’ contribution to the investment opportunities that will be provided by the general framework of the Development Road path.
    The Prime Minister directed to resolve the requirements of the ministerial meeting of the Quartet formed in light of the memorandum of understanding signed between Iraq and Turkey, Qatar, and the UAE.
