    The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs will launch the electronic visa program for foreign workers early next month, in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Interior. The
    official spokesman for the ministry, Najm Al-Aqabi, explained that his ministry has formed a specialized team to complete the necessary procedures to implement the electronic visa program for foreign workers early next July, through the network link between the ministry’s electronic system, the database of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Residence Directorate at the Ministry of Interior.
    He pointed out his ministry's efforts to provide the necessary requirements, to ensure the preservation of everyone's rights according to the law, noting the reliance on a new mechanism for dealing with foreign workers coming through the electronic visa program, as it will enable the ministry to limit the number of workers and control them through companies licensed in this regard, through a joint team from the Directorate of Residency and the Department of Labor and Vocational Training at the Ministry of Labor, stressing that this procedure will contribute to reducing and simplifying procedures and exchanging information and data with government departments according to the laws in force, which will constitute a major national achievement in this regard, comparable in importance to the procedures in place in developed countries.
    Al-Aqabi noted that the aforementioned measures come to implement the government’s plan and approach to correct the position of foreign workers, remove illegal and illegal ones from Iraqi territory, and make room for national workers and not waste their energies.
