Baghdad/Al-Masala Event: The Baghdad Municipality denied what was circulated by some social media outlets about alleged statements by the Mayor of Baghdad regarding the population of the capital and the addition of inappropriate and untrue phrases about the people of Baghdad. The municipality confirmed that these statements have no connection to the truth and reserves its legal right to prosecute all parties that published and promoted this false news.
In an official statement, the Baghdad Municipality expressed its dissatisfaction with these rumors that aim to distort the image of government institutions and spread confusion among citizens. The municipality explained that such fake news endangers the social fabric and works to weaken trust between citizens and institutions.
