    Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani directed to expand crude oil production operations and increase the production capacity of the northern refineries, while stressing the need to expedite the purchase of special mechanisms for the service effort team. The
    Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired the periodic meeting dedicated to following up on oil sector projects, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil, and a number of advisors and officials in the ministry and its affiliated companies.
    He added that the minister listened to a briefing on the projects that were recently inaugurated, which represent a qualitative leap in raising the capabilities of the oil industry in Iraq. The rates of achievement in export, distribution and transportation projects were also discussed, as well as the progress of work in these vital sectors, in addition to following up on the completion of refining projects and integrated energy projects.
    According to the statement, the Prime Minister directed to expand crude oil production operations, to increase the production of associated gas, through national efforts or to complete the production rates contracted with the licensing round companies. His Excellency also directed to increase the production capacity of the northern refineries to cover the needs of electricity and the requirements of the northern refineries.
    The statement added that the meeting discussed the current gas investment projects, especially with the associated gas investment rate reaching 69% of the gas produced in all Iraqi fields, which represents a strategic achievement in a short period of time, as it achieved an increase of 13%.
    Meanwhile, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani directed to expedite the purchase of special mechanisms for the service and engineering effort team, while stressing the need to increase the pace of work in deprived areas. The
    Prime Minister's media office said in a statement: "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired today the periodic meeting of the service and engineering effort team, where the projects under implementation were reviewed, which the team has started for the year 2024."
    It added that "the Prime Minister listened to a comprehensive presentation of the full position of the achievement rates of all projects implemented in all governorates, with regard to paving and furnishing streets and roads, and rehabilitating and maintaining schools and health centers in areas and neighborhoods that need municipal services, which helps develop the service reality in them."
    Al-Sudani stressed, according to the statement, “the necessity for the service and engineering effort team to continue with the same enthusiasm and increase the pace of work in deprived areas that need urgent services.”
    He pointed out that “the main tasks of the effort are to provide the basic and urgent services that the citizen needs and cannot be postponed, in addition to completing the stalled municipal service projects that have been halted for years,” directing “to expedite the purchase of the equipment for the effort team.”
    In addition, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani discussed with former Prime Minister and head of the Iraqi National Accord Party, Ayad Allawi, the situation in the region and the challenges it faces in light of the increasing pace of bloody attacks by the Zionist occupation authorities against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
    The Prime Minister’s media office said in a statement: “Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received former Prime Minister and head of the Iraqi National Accord Party, Ayad Allawi.”
    He added, "The meeting discussed the general situation in the country, and the government's efforts and serious steps to achieve economic reform, which is the basis for developing all vital sectors, and improves the economic and living conditions of citizens throughout Iraq."
    He continued, "The meeting touched on the situation in the region, and the challenges it faces in light of the increasing frequency of bloody attacks by the Zionist occupation authorities against the Palestinian people in Gaza, and the emphasis on Iraq's sovereignty and security, which is a gateway to the security and stability of the region."[/size]
