Al-Sudani explained, "This increase will contribute to reducing the import of gasoline and gas oil, and providing surplus quantities of liquid gas and fuel oil products, which have great economic returns. The project will also provide up to 3,000 job opportunities to employ local labor."

He added, "The value of this project amounted to 125 million dollars, and it is hoped to add hydrogenation and refining units and complementary units to improve the specifications of gasoline, which units will need other allocations of about 675 million dollars."

And the Prime Minister stated, "This project will provide job opportunities for the people of the province during the construction period, with a range of 2000-5000 direct or indirect opportunities, and it will settle on employing 3000 permanent job opportunities after its completion."

According to the statement, "Al-Sudani met with representatives of the demonstrators in Al-Shinafiya district, on the sidelines of his visit to the district and announcing the start of work on expanding the Al-Shinafiyah refinery."
