    Alsumaria News - Security

The areas adjacent to the western borders of Iraq witnessed exciting and exceptional security developments, as the Arab tribes in the areas of Hasakah and Deir Ezzor attacked the US-backed SDF forces controlling the areas of northeastern Syria adjacent to the Iraqi border, while Syrian information says that these tribes are supported and backed by Iran.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the SDF forces brought in military reinforcements from Hasakah to the towns and cities of the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, against the backdrop of an attack by local militants and formations affiliated with the regime forces and Iranian factions on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, which is controlled by the SDF.

The SDF imposed a complete curfew in the towns of Granij, Al-Kashkiya and Abu Hamam in the Deir Ezzor countryside, coinciding with the launch of a large-scale combing campaign in search of local militants.

Groups of local militants, the National Defense and pro-Iran forces attacked the positions of the Syrian Democratic Forces in the east of the Euphrates in the Deir Ezzor countryside, under the cover of artillery and mortar shells.

Violent clashes took place between the forces of the Deir Ezzor Council and the military forces of Hajin on the one hand, and the attacking groups on the other hand in the vicinity of the villages of Dhiban, Al-Latwa and Abu Hamam, after midnight on Tuesday-Wednesday and this morning, without changing the control map.

The military operations during the past hours resulted in the killing of two civilians and the wounding of 7 others.

These old-new developments come in conjunction with the SDF releasing more than a thousand detainees, some of whom were accused of terrorism, while the SDF says that they are local Arab residents. As for the reasons for the clashes and attacks on the SDF forces by Arab tribal militants in these areas, they are due to their rejection of the control of the Kurdish forces that formed a new state called the Autonomous Administration, and they accuse it of controlling the region’s resources and wealth with American support, while completely marginalizing the Arabs.
