    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, confirmed today, Monday (August 12, 2024), the continuation of extinguishing the debts owed by the families of martyrs.
The media office of the Minister of Labor stated in a statement received by "Baghdad Today" that Al-Asadi confirmed "during his reception of approximately 200 citizens within the program (The Minister Hears You), that his ministry launched more than one service during a year and a half for the categories benefiting from its services," noting "the continuation of extinguishing the debts owed by the families of martyrs who exceeded social assistance."
He added that "the Ministry of Labor is primarily a service-oriented ministry and is concerned with broad segments of society, especially the weak, disabled and special-needs groups," indicating that "last year the ministry launched a field campaign in the poorest areas to include families in districts, sub-districts and governorates with the ministry's services."
Al-Asadi continued, "The ministry has launched many services for its beneficiaries in accordance with the government program announced by the Prime Minister to address multidimensional poverty, including launching a double food ration for families benefiting from social protection and launching a student grant for their children, in addition to launching a package of reducing fees in evening studies and in private colleges for the children of those families, in addition to the health insurance service, the number of those covered by it has exceeded 400,000," stressing that "all of these services are to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable and chaste groups in society."
It is worth noting that the interviews within the “The Minister Hears You” program are conducted according to a schedule prepared by the Ministry’s Citizens Affairs Department, according to the nature of the appeal. Priority is given to responding to humanitarian cases and requests from the elderly, the disabled, people with disabilities, widows, and divorcees from the categories that the Ministry is concerned with caring for, and working to settle their transactions.
