Vian Dakhil, a representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party for the Yazidi component, said, “10 years have passed since the genocide against the Yazidis of Sinjar in 2014, and the rights of the victims have not been restored,” calling on the government to “compensate them while they continue to be displaced in the camps, as successive governments have not shown sufficient interest in their tragedy.”
Dakhil added, "The fate of 2,600 Yazidi girls and children is still unknown, including those kidnapped by ISIS terrorists, in addition to thousands buried in more than 94 mass graves discovered to date."
Dakhil described the Yazidi survivors' law as good, stating: "We demand their return to Sinjar with dignity, and the implementation of the Sinjar agreement to rebuild it and appoint the victims' families."
The MP pointed out that "the government promised that the people of Sinjar would join the security forces to control the land, and we are still demanding that the government implement all these promises and compensate the Yazidi component."
