    Economy News - Baghdad
The Ministry of Planning confirmed on Wednesday that the five-year development plan aims to achieve economic growth at a rate that is double the population growth rate, reaching 4.25%, while noting that it has adopted financial and administrative reform as well as investment in human capital.
The ministry’s spokesman, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, said in a statement reported by the official news agency, and reviewed by “Al-Eqtisad News”, that “the plan went towards activating other sectors by increasing their contribution to the gross domestic product and aimed to raise the annual growth rate of the economy so that it would be double the population growth rate, as the population growth rate is 2.5, but the plan set a target for it as economic growth of 4.25 in order to accommodate these increases by improving the level of services and responding to the requirements of unfulfilled development.”
He pointed out that "one of the basic principles and main programs of the plan is financial and administrative reform, as well as investment in human capital, as the state's orientation and policies, whether within the government program or within the strategic plans, is digital transformation or automation of all aspects of life, and there are steps taken in this direction."
