under the market system and the mechanism of supply and demand is assumed that the volume of commodity supply has a direct impact on domestic demand , which in turn affects the price level down or increase the size of the known and that this mechanism is one of the most important factors affecting the purchasing power of money.
Despite the existence of economic, political and security many can control the level of price factors , but the most important of these factors is the size of the commodity supply in addition to the local currency exchange rate relative to the foreign currencies in general and the dollar in particular.
The observer for the conditions of the local market notes and calls are really surprising and wonder that the supply and demand mechanism of the system and its effects known in prices does not work the natural form known in the Iraqi market , contrary to what is happening in other countries of the world.
If this reality raises an important question is whether the Iraqi reality was not really up until now to the stage that qualify to accommodate a true understanding of the full awareness of the nature and conditions of this system and its requirements?
So we note often that increasing commodity supply of various materials and provided largely in the local market , which may exceed the size of the domestic market demand and absorb them , however, their prices are not affected and remains maintain stability and rising remarkably
to consider.
If this situation is repeated too often when the rise of the Iraqi dinar exchange rate relative to foreign currencies and the dollar public and private .. where presumably falling prices , however consumer prices remain unchanged or decline may rise sometimes ..
What is happening in the market Iraq, which is difficult to understand and absorb even some of the competence and those interested in economic affairs owners confirms the existence of a real flaw in the business process , which suffers from a lack of strategy and clear policy in which they can identify the nature and identity of the Iraqi economy , the current and future directions and all this requires fulfilled Yale special competition and prevent monopoly and the law of consumer protection laws and that these laws do not remain parked just ink on paper.
In addition to the need to re - work the competent organs control the commercial price and control in the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Planning to reduce monopoly phenomena that lead to disrupt the actual competition as well as disrupt the natural mechanism that determines the prices of consumer goods.
I think that it is necessary to review the tariff law for the purpose of the exception of fruits and vegetables from customs duties being of basic consumer items that are related to the daily lives of consumers and their strength daily as well as the need to tighten the oversight role of some employees of checkpoints to facilitate truck traffic through which to maintain the level of prices suitable for a slice low income class and
poor.
