Oil prices rose, on Friday, after the European Central Bank’s meeting yesterday, during which it decided to raise the key interest rate for the first time since 2011.

US crude futures for September delivery rose 1.25% to $97.55 a barrel, and Brent crude futures for delivery in the same month rose 1.42% to $105.33 a barrel.

The rise in oil prices came with the decline of the dollar in light of the rise of the euro after a meetingEuropean Central BankYesterday, during which it decided to raise the base interest rate for the first time since 2011, the strength of the euro led to the decline of the dollar, which fell from last week's levels.
