    Said economist Samir Nasiri, said on Sunday that the agricultural sector in Iraq is one of the economic sectors which did not contribute to any meaningful GDP contribution, as it did not exceed its contribution to 4.5 percent.
    He said Nasiri in a press statement seen by "Economy News", the agricultural sector in Iraq did not contribute to any meaningful GDP contribution is due to the lack of real strategic methodology to improve the economic sector as the public, so the government has proposed several years ago the so-called (b Initiative Agricultural) has been allocated a lot of money for the advancement of the agricultural sector.
    He explained that something has not been achieved as a result of the conditions of political, economic and security of the country, as well as the lack of seriousness of those responsible for this sector in achieving the desired development goal of upgrading by its contribution to GDP, so the budget for Iraq in 2017 was looking to diversify revenue sources and increase other sectors revenues, including the sector agricultural.
    He noted that it requires the use of agricultural strategy based on the analysis of the causes of failures in this sector since 2003, and down to find serious solutions in partnership with the private sector in the agricultural sector management with the government to secure the technical capabilities supplies and fertilizers while ensuring supervision and control and focus on agricultural production (cereals, fruits and vegetables ) and operation of all unemployed graduates of colleges of agriculture and bringing them to a share of the income earned in order to achieve economic and social objective of sustainable development, as well as the lack of attention to the implementation of the required set of agricultural policies Bdlamn not serious responsible attitude N.
    He noted that we need to develop a new methodology for after Daesh to serve the sustainable development, it is a transitional phase after Iraq was suffering from a lack of security and political stability, augmented by a severe economic crisis as a result of lower oil prices.
